    German 8cm mortar value?

whats the value of an all original, unmolested example of a 8cm German mortar?

friend of mine has one for sale

it is complete with the bakelite fuze (waffenamps on fuze and shell body). Its also 1938 dated i believe.

    thanks guys!

From your description its "only" a grenade, not the mortar - isnt it?

yes its only the mortar shell, not the complete mortar piece of equipment / launcher. Its the same style

It looks like the one below, but doesnt have any holes drilled in it at the bottom.
Also theres no paint on it, just metal with a patina.

again the fuze has markings on it. There is very slight damage to one side of the fuze like it hit something. overall it has nice crisp markings.

this is NOT the actual mortar, its the same style however. The one im looking at isnt painted but is in better condition. i didnt see any rust on it either.
      the one below is from

      it sold for $185 apparently

It would not worked back then without those holes, every mortar round has them...
Would like to see some fotos.

          Hi,

it is impossible to indicate any value without seeing pictures of your object.

You mention an odd detail, you write it has no holes in the tail-section !?
Strange for a German 8cm !! It should have those holes in any case.

Are you sure it's a German one which you are describing ?

Looking forward to see some pictures of it !

          Thanks,

          Ferdinand W.

Both are fairly common in the EU. You can find the 5cm fairly easily over here the 8cm takes a bit more effort to track down.
The one you have shown having no original paint left on it & some damage to the fuze. Max $100.00

Miguel I need x5 more to complete my case. I know $100 seems like a lot for this item, you have to remember this is very common to find in the EU.....not so much over on this side of the pond.
I said $100 as a maximum price on this. If this was on sale the max I would offer is $50.00
