    Another 88 Round!

While not exactly a stocking stuffer (unless there was a really big stocking involved!), I managed to land another 88 round in time for Christmas. I think - based on the gray (steel?) case that this one wound up in Finland after the war - correct?

    There are no headstamp markings:

And a pic of the markings on the projectile. The color is a mustard, or baby-$h1t, yellow:

All comments and information welcome...I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about these, but when I began looking for one a few years back, I quickly realized that they are hard to find here in the States so, even though I have one already, I just couldn't pass this one up. They display wonderfully and can really dress up a collecting room, as IMO, they are one of the iconic images of the Wehrmacht.

        Thanks for looking

Casing is postwar finnish reworked one.

Does the projectile have word VAARATON stamped to driving ring? Color layer in projectile looks like somebody has sandpapered it.

The projectile is crimped into the case very tightly...I don't think I can remove it without scratching or damaging the shell

Sometimes, hitting the primer with a center punch will loosen the shell.

You planning on getting an 88 for the back yard?
