          Guys,

Just wondering: why do the primers seem to be missing from most of the non-ground dug shell casings we see in European collections? Do the laws in some EU countries require the primers be removed as some sort of "deactivation" process and/or the military surplus process by which many of these shell casings made it to the collectors' market.

I have wondered about the missing primers for years, as I look at the shell casings posted by EU members; so now seemed like a good time/place to raise the question.

          Thanks,

          Alan

Casings here at Finland come with and without primers.I know some european countries dont allow primers.Lots of german hardware around europe come from Finnish Army depots.Army rules dont allow any live ordnance to be sold for civilians or for export.Army have removed primers when they rework casings for next reload. But,some stuff never received next reload...only stored to depots and then army sold casings away without primers.

But as you can see,all the C/12 are shot ones on my picture.
