To me, this looks like a box for 3 Sonderkartusche nr. 6, for the 10,5 cm le.F.H. 18.

That is exactly what they are for. The wooden crate or box held the increment powder bags for the Light Field Howitzer LFH 18. I have several pictured here with my gun:

Black powder was not used for le. F.H. 18 charges.

The sonderkartausche 6 was the biggest powdercharge available for this particular gun.
Because of it's size (it was bigger then all other charges combined) it was packed and transported seperately.
Each charge was packed in a cardboard container and depending on the specific pwoder used, either 3 (Diglycol charge) or 4 (Nitroglycerin charge)were packed in a wooden crate.

Blondknigt's crate seems to be the 3 container type, officially called "Kasten für Sonderkartuschen 6 der l.F.H. 18 (liegend)".

I mean correct in identification of being a box for the charge bags....not the black powder part.
And yes....the LFH18 pictured in the link is my gun. It is the same one used in Band of Brothers. The one that Lt Spears takes out
in the movie. All of the casings, boxes and containers are mine as well.
