    Russian shell

Recently I received this Russian shell with a base width of 57 mm. I wonder to which kind of gun/canon it belongs. It is dated 1940 on the bottom and on the shell side itself are also many markings visible.
Who can tell more about this shell? Myself I don't know anything about these yet.
All help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

(apologies for the not too good pictures - my cam is getting too old and doesn't work as it should be)

      Thanks!
I checked this particular anti-tank weapon but I have my doubts after looking at the list of ammunition mentioned on the following website.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/57_mm_a...43_%28ZiS-2%29

My shell has on the side written бр 24(3?) and according to the website this canon used бр 271 ammo. Although I don't know the differences between these I do think it's a slightly different one
