    What is this?

I already opened some time ago this thread on the international section but it seems that he hadn't lucky. Only one gentle member adviced that this could be a german cluster bomb of SD type.
To tell the true, considering that it can be opened in the middle and it's all empty, I supposed be a container for example for propaganda leafleats or something else. As stated before is totally empty inside and made of very thin metal, almost all rusted with some rust holes on the top. It can be opened in the middle like a container. Approx lenght 55" (about 135cm) and not of heavy weight....
Any suggestion, specially if supported by any era photo will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

                German aerial bomb

                Hello from Crete.
This is a WW2 german aerial bombs that inside consists a lot of smaller bombs called "butterfly bombs" these didn't used in Battle of Crete because are late war but used in a big number in Dodekanisus Islands Battle in 1943. When the container look like a classic bomb left the plane open and the smaller bombs comes out. The little wings help them to spread in a big area. It's very rare but if its alive is very dangerous
                Friendly Stelios
