This is my first container since I'm normally collecting medals. I haven't done any research yet but can you tell from the markings what the container would have held?

I'm guessing a L18 10cm field piece but that's as far as I've got so far.

I found out what it is. It's for a 10cm Mortar round.

Not really,it's a container for a 10 cm Granate 38 rot Hohlladung C, which is a HEAT shell, used in 10,5 cm l.F.H. 18 , 10,5 cm Geb.H 40, Stu.H. 42 etc.

Well it say's so on the lid.
Besides: there was no mortarround with that designation.
