What is this Coastal Artillery gun?

    Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding what gun is portrayed on the Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery War badge.

For all other KM war badges the ships portrayed are reasonably accurate portrayals of specific types of ship, so I wondered if the same could be said of the Coastal Artillery badge?

    Two questions:
    1) Does this look like a specific type of heavy artillery?
    2) What is the detail marked with the green arrow? Is that a hinge, or rivet, or bolt of some kind?

    Thanks.

The closest thing I could find is this German 10.5 cm SK C32
(SK = Schnellladekanone or Fast loading Cannon; C32 = Construktionsjahr '32 or design year 1932)
These images are from the Wikipedia Commons and are from the Museo Torpin Tykit in Finland, and it was apparently used on the Finnish gunboat Hämeenmaa.

Actually, this is a much closer match. Is this an 88mm SK C30? Is there a similar model that better matches the badge?

Here is another closely matching photo. Anyone know the model? The thoughts on Axis History Forum were it's either a 10.5 cm SK C/32 or an 8.8 cm SK C/30 on an MPL C/30 mount with a four side land shield.

        Best regards,

IMO it's the 10.5cm SK C32, the 8.8cm gun's 3 tubes on top of the barrel were the same length, whereas on the 10.5cm gun, the top tube was shorter.

The gun was used as both a coastal artillery gun and as a flak gun, it was also one of the more commonly used German built coastal artillery guns so was well suited for the badge as it was awarded to both marine flak and marine artillerie.

If you can see the images in this forum's thread you'll see several photos of the 10.5cm gun

For reference, here's a link to a thread from 2005 showing the ammunition for this gun.
