Did you find out anything about these grenades (INERT) over at BOCN? By the way, they are great bunch of guys who are very helpful people in their field of study and collections

If not, I may be of assistance to you? Ask me and I will get you started right away?

What is at the bottom of the stick? What is inside the Polish Type F-1 hand grenade? Can you show me in a picture what it all looks like when torn down to it pieces? The reason why I ask is that it could be from two different wars.

Now looking at it from this point of view, it appears to be a fake. Nothing I have seen here is any device I have ever seen. It appears to have been used as a tool or something like it. First thing that comes to my mind is that somebody made it for a nut cracker. The body of the grenade has been tampered with a it lost all of its value by nearly destroying it. What a shame that somebody would do such a thing to the grenade head.

              Sorry,

I tend to agree that it may have been field modified as a nut cracker/trench club. Certainly wouldn't dismis it completely as it's not unusual to come across trench clubs made in this mannor during WW1. The German Krugel was a popular donor for clubs.
