    It seems to be a practice piece,its weighted one end,I do not think its german for one minute.John

      Looks to be a Fired Mortar tail section. Not sure which country but I can have a look later at designs.

        I think it is a training mortar round. I used to own one similar. Regards Tobysauer.

            Uk 51mm mortar smoke round with primary cartridge by Radway Green dated 1974..The very similar looking para illum variant has a nipple on the nose cap for id during night firing
