Practice Grenade ???

Is this a WWI practice grenade or a early reproduction item ?
The head is filled with what sounds like sand.

yes ,this is a repro. I can not remember which reenactor group made these, but they have been around for a long while. all of the original trainers have quality made materials , so it will last with it's over use in training. jeff h.
