It's a Faustpatronenzünder 8003, and normally there's a percussioncap inside (you can see it on the left, sticking out).

A picture of the left side would be helpfull.

Why risk it? looks like an old battery. I would imagine that the thing has just been pulled out of the ground and not made safe.

I would think that if UK Customs locate it they will destroy it anyway because it lacks any documentation stating it has been made safe, and you could find yourself in some trouble with the Police.

I would not want it anywhere near me

          Panzerfaust detonator

          Hello,

I'm sure your detonator has been emptied as supposed !

Please have a look at my enhanced picture :

          a drill-hole is clearly visible !

The inside is purely mechanical (there is a pressurespring inside, a coiled spring, and a firing pin), the hole is original and can be found in every FPZ 8003.

The percussioncap is located in the small potruding cylinder in the centre and as you can see it is untouched.

Doubt its legal in the UK if it has an explosive element that has not been taken out.

After all in the Uk Christmas crackers are now regarded as explosive devices
