    Fake Potato Masher?

Picked this up at a flea market. Girl said she found it cleaning up her grandfathers garage. Good story! It was cheap and probably cost less than a good reproduction so I bought it. The end weighs a ton and probably solid metal. Even the end cap has cosmoline inside it. Good fake?

      not a fake

      Hi t_player !

It is not a fake but a rather early German WWII practice handgrenade.
The markings are fine - rather rare to see one like this nowadays.

It has probably the same weight as the full original.

      Best regards,

I got one when I was a kid in the 1960's through an ad from a mail order surplus business. It was identical. I figured it was a fake and sold it. I wonder if yours came from the same source.

It looks like solid aluminium, is it?

It's not magnetic so probably is!
