OK, 45+ views and no one can even give me a guess? I have a chance to pick one of these up and I do not wish to totally insult (or rip-off) my friend with my offer. Another friend said he thought about $100, but he has not come across one in a while. Can any one second this?

Cannot tell about US prices but here in europe this type grenades are available as low as 30euros(or even cheaper).Mint ones with all original markings still visible are about 70-80euros.That makes price range in 40-90 US dollars.

your better off trying to find out yourself off the internet. i asked for estimates on 2 different pieces and didnt get any response either.i dont know why people are so closed lipped on this forum.its like everyone is afraid to say anything? i went and tried to find an example like the one pictured. i would say if you can get it for the 100.00 and you want it.buy it. i remember seeing these on ebay some even with the container a few years ago but not anymore. if it is in nice shape and not ground dug like i read on another forum,100.00 is probably a decent to normal price.good luck

          Why?????

Thank you Gentlemen for your replys.

I also am not sure Von Shock why so many do not wish to help someone that only has a half dozen or so posts. I joined a while back and mostly just "Lurk", listen, and read as much as I can. There is alot of wonderful information on this site! As for me I portray a WW2 German Soldier for living History displays and are now working on putting together a layout for the K-98 Rifle/Grenade system. I have found reproductions of the launcher and some projectiles, but no one makes a good copy of the M-40 HEAT. I found one and that was why I was asking about a fair price.

I also belong to a coin discussion group. They also are unwilling to help "newbies", this is what they said:
New guys ask stupid questions that you can find by doing a search of our site.
New guys are often "trolls" wasteing your time and energy.
New guys often claim to not know a coin, but really want someone to make
an offer and then get ripped off.
New guys are often old-timers claiming to find something new- when really
its just something old in thier collection that they wish to sell HIGH!
          Etc.........
In the words of Chris Rock,"I understands it......but I don't agree with it!"

I did pick the M-40 up for $85, when i get it and get some pics loaded, you all can tell me if I got ripped off.
          Thanks, Paul.

Thank you Sir, I knew if this guy was asking around $100, that he mostlikely knew the market and he was at the TOP! I was a little surprised that he let it go for $85, so it really helped to have someone here put it in that same range.

              cheers..... ya'll! Paul.

Generally german WW2 ordnance is more expensive in US than Europe.

So you cannot compare prices directly.

The two halves come apart easy. But the base/bottom won't come off. Any tips on how to get it off w/o damage or messing up anything inside?

I think $85 is a bit high but its nice. I think the threads on the part u want to take apart are backwards, u can make a keyl with 2 nails and some wood.
