    Haven't Got A Clue!

Question of the day: WTF is it? Knowing nothing, it looks like a muffler with some modifications but I’m hopeful you folks might know better.

It’s 18” long about 3.25” wide. The ‘assembly’ having the two circular pull pins unscrews. It’s stamped with an ‘H’ and under the spoon (if that’s what it is) it’s stamped ‘CAV’. Clearly, it unscrews and will remain detached while I ponder my insurance coverage both homeowner & personal.

At the other end there appears an expended shell (12 gauge) which, hopefully indicates I’ll make it through another day while awaiting any comments from my forum colleagues.

On the plate the ‘assembly’ screws to it’s stamped ‘8/16’, ‘IJ&S’ over a ‘G’ as well as ‘I’ and a few squiggles and, as mentioned, there’s painted nomenclature on the surface I’ve photographed and would love to know what it may indicate. I look forward to any guidance.

            Thanx in advance! Rick

              Wonderful! Thanx Blinky.

Can anyone venture a guess as to if it's harmless or should I update my insurance levels?
