Wicker Morter Case and Cardboard Anti-Aircraft Case

Not really sure if this belongs more in this section or in the "Wehrmacht Equipment" forum so I am posting in both. Please forgive me if this is frowned upon!

I want to share two items with you that I am looking at purchasing, but would like to confirm authenticity, etc. first.

First is a wicker mortar case that carried mortar shells, second is a cardboard box that held charges for Anti-Aircraft shells. Considering this stuff was meant to be disposable (left on the battlefield) and consequently made of relatively fragile material, they are in fairly decent shape.

What exactly would these be worth today? Would $300 each be too much? Never seen anything like them before...

As always, thanks so much for all your help!

    wicker basket and 3,7cm LW-crate

    Hi,

both items are nice and original - nothing negative to say about them.

However, $ 300.- each is much to highly priced !

In Europe one can easily find the 3,7cm LW cardboard boxes for much less than $ 150.-.

So the value/price would be around $ 300.- for both, not more for sure.

I can't speak for the prices in the US but for Europe these are one of the more common items. The condition of the wicker container is not that good so 20 Euro would be a good price. The cardboard box may be 30 Euro.

It is true the wicker basket sometimes is reused to hold mortar shells but this one is marked for the original use of the 7.5cm Le J G 18 infantry gun.

Please save yourself a lot of money and do not pay $300 each.

Wicker Morter Case and Cardboard Anti-Aircraft Case

        Ok first off nice find.

Second $300 for the pair is way off!!!!.....

You may be looking at $150CDN for the pair MAX. The Flak case case is common enough...I see them on eBay all the time.

        Hope this helps.

Let me know if you pass on them.
