    Achtung Minen sign

I would like to hear your opinions on the originality of this 'Achtung Minen' sign. It looks good to me.

It could very well be an original.

Is there any indication on the sign as to how it was mounted, such as to a post or a building?

Looks a bit like the lid or side pannel of an wooden ammo box.

It looks like someone painted on a very old boards as the paint and glance does not seem to have crackled and chipped along with the boards or the backside at all.
I believe the work to be postwar.

Looks contrived, without any age to the paint and lettering, IMO.

I too dont think its a period sign. Looks to be painted recently on a piece of old wood.

Sorry but I would pass on it. The cracking on the paint seems to be done putting it close to an hot source....

Not the best photo, but here is an original one:
