    FLAK 88 Transportation cap?

    Dear friends and fellow collectors,

Recently I recieved this flak 88 transportation cap (according to seller).
But I have some question about it:
Is it original war-time? (IMO yes)
If so, does any one knows the date of manufacturing?
Were they used in large quantities?
Were they used for FLAK only or also for KWK43?
How rare are they? (never saw them before)
    And last what's the value?

    Pictures:

    Thanks in advance!

    Kinds regards,
    Coco bandy

PS: sorry for my bad English.

It looks original wartime cap to me.They are not rare to see, there was few hundred of these available few months ago in egun.de auction.

It sure fits into 8,8cm Flak shell but also 7,5cm,10,5cm and 12,5cm grenades.Thread size were same on those grenades and they used same type fuzes also.

              88mm cup recognised

              Hello from Crete,
I'm Stelios and I have war museum in Galatas village. I have found a lot of these cups in a WW2 german 150mm naval gun installation and very close to the 150mm cannon base that is very clear shown today. in the same point I found also a lot of 150mm shell cases and fuses. From information I found from internet this battery had 2 150mm naval guns SK L/55 and SK C/28. The guns located in cape Spatha in Chania area.
So is not from 88mm gun but from 15cm gun
              Friendly
              Stelios

Mr.Stelios,i have all these rounds(7,5cm/8,8cm/10,5cm/12,8cm/15cm) also on my collection and they all have same detonator thread size 50x3.You can see thread size marking 50x3 on the cap.

Some of the german naval guns used Whitworth 50x1/8" thread but most common thread size is 50x3.

These bakelite transport caps were used with all the rounds with the same threads than the caps, it is very easy. I have one of them in my 8,8cm Sp. I need the small screw that fits in the threaded hole, if anybody has a spare one it will be very welcome.
