Opinion on mod 24 of 1940

Hello i try in this section cause i have not a lot of reply in equipement section.
2 members told me that it's a good mod 24 but that the neutra was very strange.....

I have the seller today and he show me the grenade, i confirm that she's really desactived cause me too i have a doubt.the pot is empty of powder, it is really lightweight.

Please could you tell me what do you think about this mod24 grenade?
Can you telle me toothe manufacturer?
    Thanks for your advice

Hi as Oberjaeger says , "all original " but the stenciling looks to heavy/thick overall a nice originlal Richard Rinker 1940 model M24.... i would gladly take it if you do not like it

The sprenkapsel det is not an original though,,, also how was it made safe,, are there any holes in side of can... fuse-well is intact and no signs of the can seporated from its base,, curious ..

        Best Regards nick

I wondered also how the grenade is made empty.I have few unopened ones also, but they are found from water and explosives inside melt away slowly in 60years underneath water. But this one looks like almost mint shape one, definetly not water found one.

Hi folks Jens is 100% right the parts are good, but
The can looks to be remodeled if you look the inside its rusty and the outside of the head is in good shape ? No folks, this one looks like that someone helped out with blaster. Well IMO
But no way if the price is good....

In my opinion it absolutely original. I too have some concerns about the head being reworked, but not to the extent that I would not own it. A lot depends on the asking price.

I geuss if the can has been re-worked,,, then there was a hole in it somwhere and the contents emptied out that way,,i have 1 or 2 like this,, they make good restoratrion projects as long as they are solid,, but still a nice M24 and i would gladly own it.

                  cheers nick

I do not like the stenciling. To me this is not original to the head.

                          M24 of 1940

                          Hi to all, hello Lorenzo,

yes, I would pass as well on this one - something looks
                          really suspicious to me:

The spot where the RR1940 is stamped is dented or staved in,
a bad sign, as this would not happen at the factory stencilling
                          it.
Looks as if someone added this to make it matching to the
                          original ! wooden handle.

                          Ferdinand

                            +++

Restored can for sure; blasting cap inside looks live (and it is!).
