    Help needed about the US shell.

    I got this today, I do not know anything about it. Any help would be appreciated.

        What's the diameter of the top, and the length in mm, will look it up, but need those two.

            Length is rought 35cm and diameter on top is 7.5 cm. Thank you

                  Probably a WWI bring-back by a U.S. veteran (or post-war battlefield tourist). Yes, U.S. troops used the French 75mm artillery pieces that this shell came from.

                    Thank you, that is cool I thought this is US made shell. I never thought this would be WWI French shell.

                          Anybody know what factory used the "A.S. Co" code ?
                          I am not entirely convinced it is a french code.

                          The US used the french 75 Modèle 1897 during and after WW1, renaming them 75 mm Gun M1897 (if i remember correctly it was even simply called 75 mm Fieldgun in the 1920's, but not 100% sure there) , which later on became the 75 mm Gun M2 (mounted in the M3 Lee tank for instance).
