You can deactivate the grenade just unscrew the top and the tnt is probably loose from 60 plus years empty it and pull the pin on the fuse and throw it a short distance if it don’t go off the chances are the detonator is bad cut the fuse with a pair of cutters as close to the top as possible do not cut in the detonator just the fuse and disregard it. I lived in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on">France</st1:country-region> for many years and deactivated old WW2 ordnance with no problems.
