    Kwk 43

Just came across this round for the KWK 43 cannon.

What does the inked stamp "Pzgr" indicate at the bottom of the case??

These things are large and heavy...the soldiers must have loved lugging these things around inside a tank.

Now, does anybody know where I may get an original wooden crate for this one???

          Very nice round there!
I wish I could get one or two some day.

Pzgr means Panzergranate or Armor piercing shell.

I have one wooden and one steel container, but they are waiting for
          correct filling.

Thank you for the reply. Nice collection too!

That KWK box certainly would look great with this round in it

Brian, that is a very nice looking KwK43 round you have. Unfortunately it does not have a Pzgr projectile as the cartridge case indicates. Yours is a Sprgr (high explosive grenade). The Pzgr 39/43 looks like this.

                Thank you.

Yes, I now know the head does not belong to the case, once I figured out what the paint marking was on the bottom. Maybe some day I can locate the proper head for this...any suggestions??.
