Original M42 german grenade WC 1944?

    Hello,
I spotted this grenade. It's the late war model, but it does look very new. What do you think; is it original, partially original, or replica?

    Thanks,
    Frank

              Why not? I'm really curious.

Base thread looks to new with odd fixing ,, red primer in screw cap, and yes the tight crimp on the can also is there there the remains of the fuse well disc inside the can,,run you finger round the inside of the can and feel for a sharp edge, if it ws removed with a hole cutter i would expect to see some remains on the top area of the thread at entry to the can, it may have been bent up into the can again you will see this easily or feel it,

looks good at a distance with nice stamping but no so good up close,, I saw one like this at W&P show from a dealer, it is a hard call to make but i will look through my grens and see if i have
one with the same makers stamps,. i have repro handles here with the red primer in the screw cap, and crimped top threads, will post them later on,

Have one wc1944 example and I do not see anything wrong with these markings here. There are some traces of black ink markings with date of elaboration visible on the can (1944) - and they do look OK too. No problem with green paint - the can has been oiled and is shiny now....

Not sure about tight crimp - but have seen some grenades opened on this place - and closed after removing of the "stuff" from inside, together with disc - to make it empty for the first look. Sometimes done good, sometimes terribly.

                        Regards
                        Marcin
