    Strange german WW2 cases

    Hello
here are some cases from WW2 german 2 cm and 7,92 mm cartridges. They have been found in Germany by digging (at the same place than the 8 cm rounds = .http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=381286 ).
One 2 cm case with hole on the body seems to be for powder experimentation, but the other one is really different without throat; Should it be an experimental model?
The 7,92 mm cases, also with one hole on the body, were found with some in aluminium.
So, what can you say about these strange cases?
    Regards

These are pressure test cases, the hole is there to house a piezo element that measure pressure during firing.
In order to place them with the hole in exactly the right spot, these cases have milled slot in the base.

    Nice find !
