Good evening gents,
I picked up a Z35 fuze last week from Robert here on WAF and want to get a T-mine 35 mine to go with it. I'm primarily a uniform/headgear collector and thought it would make a bitchin' looking display in the hand of my tank killer. I was wondering if some of the ordnance experts here can help me with a pretty basic question.
In looking on the web at dozens of T-mine 35s I noticed damn near every one had the maker's information and a date. I ran across some pics on a Russian site (www.Saperka.ru) of a TM 35 that had a few differences.
Unlike the "standard" examples, this one has a number of dimples around the fuze well. They are visible in the 2nd pic I attached and appear to be there to position the fuze well prior to brazing it in position (the funny part is in that picture it is very obvious the fuze well is slightly off-center). The other difference is that there is not a single marking on it (at least none that are visible, nor any that are mentioned in his text [I partially translated the text]).
So my few questions are as follows:
* Can T-mine 35 (or later models) be found without markings??
* Has anybody else seen this unmarked model with dimples around the fuze well?
* Are these models even WW2 vintage, and produced by the Germans for the Germans, or produced by another country for their use?? I know they produced oodles of these for the Finns, so is the type they used for export??
* Would this off-center fuze well be reason to reject it at the factory?
* Did anybody produce this after the war for their use?
I'd sincerely appreciate any help you'd be willing to provide as I don't want to end up falling into one and then it turns out to be crap.
