    Unknown ww2 German mortar shell

    Hello,
who can tell me what are these 8cm ww2 German mortar shells?
They look like the normal's one, but don't have a "charges handle" (sorry, I don't know the exact word) like usually. They have been found by digging in Germany and are all inert (as painted on the body BL meaning " Blindgeladene" (inert) ), with a kind of tar inside and no place for launching cartridge.
So, is it something experimental or...?
    Regards
    J-Mi

This is an experimental 8 cm mortar round.
No information has becoming available until now, but some say it might have been for a mortar using airpressure.

I guess we will just have to wait until somebody somewhere uncovers the original reports.
