I could be wrong but this looks more like a heavy weight leverage crane to me...


But I'm certainly no expert so I could be mistaken...

Think it's a flatbed rail car with some type of crane or generator onboard.

Two 16 wheel trucks are not neccessary for any generator or crane. It has the superstructure of the K5[E] but the trunnion and shell crane seen on the 28cm Kurze Bruno. The trucks themselves I have not seen before but that size would also be associated with the K12[E] of 21cm and long barrel for cross channel shelling. All in all a very puzzling photograph.

The two K12[E]'s were disassembled and the guns emplaced on the coast in permanent casements and were used to shell Dover, Folkestone, and other targets in Kent and I wonder if the Germans repurposed the trucks for another gun?

I was thinking either the barrel has been removed for changing or it is a training set-up with an older or obsolete car? I have not matched it to any photos.

hello,

althought i'm not completly 100% sure,
it could be a either 40 cm H (E) 752 (f) Beute french howitzer,
as it seems to have the same 16 wheels trucks and superstructure
than the 52 cm H (E) 871 (f) Beute railway howitzers.
the loading crane is particular to those guns too.
i know a pic of the 52 cm used in december 1941 at Krassnijbor,
during Leningrad battle, ant it had exactly the same white camo.
as Einsenbahn-Artillerie-Batterie 686 used those beute french howitzers in this area at that ime (1X52 and 4X40), it is my hypothesis.
the howitzer barrel is directed on the left of the pic, the crane is on the right, wich make a confusion with a thinner 28 cm gun long barrel.
