GREAT Rinker 1936 specimen - rare and beautiful !

Could you show a picture of the top of the head ?

Looking forward to see some more pictures of this one !

              Congratulations

Frans, unfortunately you have an Übungs-Hangranaten-stick on yours, with the
              red connecting part....
You'll have to find a regular one for yours - the head is GREAT of course !

                Hello Ferdinand,

I don't think the handle is from an Ubungshandgranate. On the handle stays not Ub as it should be on a ubungshandgranate. On the handle stays 1937 and the mark from Riker. Besides there is no red paint on the handle. It is red primer.

The M24 came to me in this way. It was found in a crate with others in it. This one was the only one to surivive. The others where blew up by the Ammunition Disposal Unit. (EOD in the Netherlands).

Gentlemen, how does the ubungshandgranate stick differ from other sticks?

                    Hi
Here are two ubungs, both have makers marks and UB on them.
                    RRE and UEB
                    RRM and UB

What Frans has is a very nice and early M24 without green paint on the connector, just the red primer. You can find marked Ub, (Ubungs), the handles until 1940, after this year the handles were marked just with the year of production and the maker mark. In the years 1940-1941-1942 many things changed in the Stielhandgranate manufacture. Germans needed much more grenades and had no time for a so delicated and perfect manufacture with red primer, screwed collars, cardboard discs with springs, etc.

                          Hello Frans !
Oh now I can see it ! You are right, the wooden stick was not visible enough
on your 1st picture. At first glance it looked like an Üb-stick.
Miguel has well explained though later.
                          Thanks - Cheers,

You can find the answer to your question in my first post in this thread. Apart of the UB markings and red paint on the top connector nothing different from a combat handle.
