New M39 Nebel Smoke Grenade

Picked up this beauty this past weekend. Would love to hear what the grenade collectors think, as you have more experience than I do in the grenade field. The oddest thing is the smoke holes in the head are filled with wax, was this a factory thing or did some GI do this? Thanks for looking and I look forward to your opinions.

Not factory filled. Check if these holes are not drilled additionally (remove the wax from some of them) - goes the hole through the lower metal plate?

Another fake grenade...... Just kidding, just kidding. Very nice, but unmatching Smoke Grenade. My offer for it includes my house and car and everything already included by jeeeensy. Well, I have no kids but I could throw my mother too.

I removed the wax with a toothpick, the holes didn't go all the way through, it's just the way it should be, can't figure out the wax thing. A keeper for sure. Thanks for the comments and help.

2 thunbs up on this piece. SWEET! one of the best Ive seen. you are very fortunate, especially to find at a gun show. Im not asking the price but was it a good deal or did you pay your left arm for this sweet example. Glenn

Left arm is still intact, this is the second smoke I've picked up this year, but this one is nicer than the first. The first one I bought was from the WW2 army vet. Stuff is still out there, just got to get off the couch and hunt it down!
