Very interesting 10,5 cm howitzer round

Found by someone - somewhere on the east front - but after 60 years. At the first look standard 10,5 cm german howitzer round. But not exactly.


I think this is very interesting pictorial story for any ordnance collector, so I have decided to show it here.

I was not a person, who done that all work Don't like to do such things at all.

Yes, it was propaganda round for 10,5 german field howitzer


Some hundreds of german propaganda leaflets for russian soldiers from December 1943 - in one round - all about good life as german POW. Most of these papers are badly damaged - but inside of that roll I could find several in really good condition. After using an iron they are flat and not wet anymore.

There is a short story in russian language (someone is talking about his experiences as german POW) on one side, and on the another a picture - for example "Russian POWs are buying in a german shop".

I hope the guy who has opened the round knews what he was doing before using his hammer... If it was not the case, he is crazy..

Anyway, back to this curiosity, very interesting. Other smaller rounds such as rifle grenade had the same purpose..
