here are 2 latest items i came across, german late war improvised grenade,It's original use was as a parachute dropped "Splitterbombe SD 0.5kg"

These were issued during the last months of the war with a grenade BZ40 pull fuze, as all ammunition supplies were seriously depleted.any comments much apreciated, more info on them can be found here:

    Hi,
    The fuzes are Czechoslovakian postwar.

dont think they are, i looked at the postwar czech ones, the postwar ones are painted deeply in blue, the ones on these dont have any type of paint at all on them, the metal really looks old, as is the deteriation on the inside of the fuzes, the rope is breaking up, and the original pull rings on the inside look as they were left a very long time, i would like to hear some other opinions on them, maybe the fuzes on these are very late war ones due to the dome shape, different to the normal german early ones?,even check the link to the website i posted, same fuzes as is on mine, but it doesnt state these were fitted with post war fuzes?? tbh i dont think anyone would go the the effort to fake these items, i think they would rather spend the time faking m24 grenades.

Flat top fuze is post war as HGrenadier states.

Check these at lexpev.nl if you like

        Sad but true.

check the original link i posted to this website about this grenade, does it not show a flat top fuze installed also? - you would think it would be mentioned about so called post war fuzes being installed in these.

            Hi,

yes, I looked at the link and lexpev too has this flat top post-war fuze on his.

Nevertheless they are 100% post-war E. German or Czech !
Sometimes you can read on 1 lower side of 1 wing : LOS Nr. (German NVA lot N°).
Additionally the striated surface around the top clearly shows that these
fuzes are NOT German WWII or earlier !!

The bodies of course are no fakes - they are fine !

            Best regards,

            Ferdinand

              and lastly

              Hope this helps

Also look in post war german fuzes on lexpev site, they are round top, the flat top is a czech feature, the wings on your fuzes are as Ferdinand says post war German.
