          Here are the pictures.
As you can see, it has been heavily restored by the previous owner.
No markings that I can see.

It fits a standard M24 handle.

I probably need to take off all the paint to make sure it is not a fake....

              Hi,

seen the heavily restored head I can imagine that it was originally a
regular M24 head and the M43 fuze-holder was added later by the restorer.

Original parts but is it a Frankenstien; you would need to strip it back to metal and look at
the base crimp and see if it has been re-crimped onto the can, or as Ferdinand says a reg, M24 been re-worked.
only way to tell would be to remove the fuse well and see if the hole was cut with a hole cutter or punched out with
a press, clean edges round hole would be pressed in factory and rough would be cut with a hole cutter and would also be slightly irregular
                  shape.

                  I have a ww1 M17 gren with a M24 base fitted, but it fits a ww1 M17 threaded collar
                  on a M16/17 stick.
was a cheapie at the time and didn't really look at it untill later then realised

                  Regards
                  Nick

I donĀ“t know what to think about, but as HGrenadier comment that a head like this existed.... maybe it is just too much restored or as jeeeensy and Ferd say just a custom one. Please HGrenadier explain us more about that M43 variant.

OK, you forced me to to place some info - it is from INTAREX database:

PS: Not for M24 handle, but alternative variant of M43

I'm sorry, but for me I think Fern and reidmuller are right. This head looks to be an odd m24 one. If you look on the bottom of the head it looks def. like a m24 one.
also the bottom of the m24 is completely open.
                        not a good one

It looks like in picc 3 post #5 you can see that the rim of the can has split where it has been removed from one can and re-crimped to another ,, from a m24 to m43 can assuming,

But having said this ,,,OK ,,,,here we go.
There was one or two cans found that were fixed together thread to thread bit like the adaptor to dispense with the wooden handle but threaded both sides or two adaptors fixed together.
Only problem would be how would you set the delay fuse ,,2 m24's back to back,,no way,,,but if you fitted a m43 fuse well into a m24 then yes possible,,,a double headed grenade. a lot of work ,,empty one can fix fuse well then re-fill with H/E and fix together,,,but possible.

I'll go on that note and get a drink,, a large J.D

                          Regards

                            Hi Jeensy,
Nice to hear you again. I would like to post some info in addition. Inbetween, I hadn't had the pictures when I made my supposition about this grenade. When I saw them, my first reaction was (and is) the same - fake.
But, we here have a saying - there is no smoke without a fire. See the pictures - such strange StHgr.43 - on former page of G-max reenactment (war games) models of this type were described as "m43 - late model". You can find these models here too (middle of the page):
                            http://www.planetairsoft.net/archive...e-03-april.htm
Is this chimera or not? Would be nice to hear your opinions...

                              OK ,, had my J.D .

A friend of mine found this when out on one his battlfield acheology trips,, this is only the second he has ever found to date, and he does recover a fair bit and been doing this a long time.
But it does prove that there were field mod's to ordnance. M24's in this case,
