Have nobody seen this kind of shoe-mine before made of bakelite.

Hi,

I have not seen this type of shoe mine before. I only know the ones made of wood being German. On a German Bakelit mine I would expect at least some bakelit markings and maybe a code as well.
My guess is postwar foreign but Iam not an expert in this field.

Thanks for your reply. inside compartment fits the german explosive 100% and everything indicate german made. I don't think because it's not marked have anything to say. I also think it's very well made. Hope there's someone out there who can tell if it's german ww2 made or postwar german or an other country.

I'm with Jens.....I would tend to believe original WW2 bakelite items would have some sort of maker code (i.e. 3-digit) and a year of manufacture.....Similar to markings on the inside of MP grips......Bodes

I had a look at his site and found a mine almost identical, that was a norwegian postwar training mine made of plastic. I've send email to him and will now wait for the reply.

That would have been my guess as we used to lay them in our ski tracks to stop people from following us. I still have some fuses in my footlocker at home.

Bingo. There you go, that's the one. Seems like many countrys copied the german equipment after the war and for a good reason I belive.
