I recently picked up this M24 grenade in great shape but have a small problem. Rolling around inside the head is part of the igniter and I cannot unscrew the head from the stick to get it out. I can see it looking down through the end of the handle. I am assuming the head has rusted on and I know it is probably just common sense what you do with a rusted junction, use some sort of WD-40 solution. However, I don't want to take a chance ruining any markings or paint. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron, Thats a superb Grenade and if its to tight to unscrew the head just leve it the way it is, its way to good to risk damage by forcing it and WD40 will risk blemishing the paint finish and possiably damage the ink stampings if they are still visiable, let alone risking the instructions unless you very carefully apply it. and even then the threads should be sealed with a fibre washer to keep moisture out
As I said because of the exceptional condition I would risk nothing more than a firm grip on the head and collar and a twist to try loosening it.

Hi , The bit rolling around is the old fuse well that has been broken away to allow the contents to be emptied out, best advice is to leave it in one piece.
It has nice clear instructions and a nice matching handle. Overall an excellent grenade.
