    piede of battleship Gneisenau1942

I got this from a friend whos father stole this from the ship Gneisenau.

2 pieces from one of the guns on the battleship Gneisenau 1942.

But how can the numbers tell me that the story is true.

Does these numbers say anything about which ship the belonged to.?

    thanks in advance

Well two of her twin 15cm turrets still survive today.

These are (IMO) really neat little items. Has your friend provided any further details as to when and where his father came to be in contact with this ship and, thus, was able to remove these from the ship's guns?

                      Cool

That is really interesting. I would assume Krupp made the guns but I have no idea if records would still exist as to serial numbers and disposition of the guns. There are 15 cm guns from Gneisenau still intact at Ft. Stevns ( hope I spelled that correctly ) in Denmark. I wonder if someone has the ability to examine those guns for you and see what their serial numbers are? If your pins are in that series then perhaps that would be enough proof to verify the origin of these parts. At any rate these are really neat pieces.
