ChiComm or Viet Cong grenade

Hello forum...

I bought some deactivated/inert grenades at a local auction two weeks ago.

I was wondering if this is ChiComm (Chinese Communist?) or Viet Cong?

I assume it's from the Vietnam War since there was a US Vietnam vet at the auction who said he use to see these on dead Viet Cong.

There is a hole to the top, and no fuse/internal parts or powder of any kind.

I am not sure if this is a deactivated former live grenade, or was a dummy/practice grenade from the start?

Also... any idea as to value? I don't collect this type of stuff...

empty, of course.

Light seen through to other side/hole on top drilled. Nothing internal of any kind.
