    88mm Tiger round opinion??

Could this round actually have been used in a Tiger I or is it a flak round converted ...or are they one in the same? The Fuse and primer seems correct for a tank round. Any opinions??

"fuse nose is bright and is stamped marked AZ 23/28 45 rbp also has a screw on side of fuse nose with stamped letters around its outside perimeter as follows: M O VO. Three Waffenamp on projectile body. Case stamped a u e AMP 691 42 8,8 CMFLAK 18 (8,8CM 3051) primer holder assembly is brass and is marked Phs 199 C/22 please see pictures"

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

case is for a 88 Flak 18, not for a Tiger...

They used also tank rounds for the 88's, for ground targets...

      Thank you.

So somebody placed the fuze and electric primer on here to make it appear as a "tiger" round??

There's no differerance between a FLAK 18 Case and a Tiger I Case. The only way to make out is/was the primer. Your case has a C/22 primer installed, so it could be a Tiger round(depending the install date of the primer..), it has the correct fuse too. A FLAK 18 round used a C/12Na (St) primer.

Dutchknive is right, only way to tell them apart (apart from the Kw.K. 36 stencilling which is almost always absent) is through the C22 primer.
But even that does not garanty a 100% original 8,8 cm Kw.K. 36 round.

If it's cheap, then buy it.

But if the price is high, i would ask for more and better pictures...
