    What do we have here?

    Hi Guys,

Well, this is my first post in the Large Ordnance Forum and it's on behalf of my friend Kevin Weisner who will be along shortly to tell you how he came to have this shell.

Anything you can tell us about this item would be appreciated.

    5 photos to follow.

    Regards,
    Stu

Thanks so much Stu! You are a great help and asset to this forum.
Also on the bottom of the shell are stampings as follow placed when read like a clock
            12 o'clock aty/bzs 3,7 cm 30 st
3 o'clock Eagle clutching Swastika with M ? Tough to make out due to a small bit of corrosion.
            6 o'clock UV 1942
            9 o'clock 19
There are some other #'s on small aluminum ring as follow.
            eds 1941
            44 c
shell case measures 37.5 cm, overall as shown in photo is 50 cm.
Any info that can be given would be most appreciated, This shell was supposed to have been liberated from a captured German ship in Dec. 1943.
Any clue as to a reasonable value for this? I have not really seen any like it on all my searches for Wehrmacht relics, so I assume quite rare?
Thanks for any help in advance!
            Kevin

Its a HE round for the 3,7cm SK C/30 used by the Kriegsmarine on most of the ships.

Not very rare here in europe, value about 50-100 € depends on condition. I would quess 70€ is a fair price for your round.
