    John,

This could be tough to find. Most of the grenades in recent circulation and coming from European sources seem to be fitted with the post-war Czech fuzes with the flat top. That tells me the fuzes are in shorter supply than the bodies and spare fuzes are rarely offered for sale.

Someone on these forums mentioned a U.S. dealer that had a few last year and I bought one for about $85. That seemed a little steep to me for just a fuze but I had been looking for quite a while too and was happy to get one. Sorry, but I don't recall who it was, but a search through the forums should produce a name.

yes, that was me. I purchased one and told others that were interested in one about them, now they are all gone. they were straight from the factory. brought back by a US ordnance soldier. all were mint and of course the same maker/year. he even had the production box. worth every penny. as said, these are a very tough find. I think the best bet for you is to find an egg with a nice head, take it off, sell the rest and cut your losses. it sucks but to find a seperate head for sale is very unlikely. Glenn

          Egg-grenade fuses

          Hi John,
I sent you a PM re fuses, did you get it?
I've had a look and I have one spare 42-dated fuse fitted with a thin flat hexagonal nut - instead of the two-armed wing-nut.
The wire has been pulled free of the fuse which is completely empty of any powder, both in the larger upper portion and in the smaller tube.
If this sounds of interest drop me a PM.
          Best regards,
          Grossfuss

For what it's worth, here's the fuse in question.

No 2 - the dark mark around the base of the knob is wax or grease to seal it.

                Egg-grenade fuses

No 3 - the wire can be glued into the fuse with Araldite (or similar) and It'll then look complete.

                              Hi All

I'm with Glenn, but it appears any decent grenades are becoming hard to find. (apart from the perennial "suspect" stick grenades of course)

In fact the whole ordnance area seems to be drying up!

                              Best,..Rob
