SCHEINTOD (Apperance of Death) These 12mm German Gas Ctgs were made in pre World War 1 and Post War Germany.. They are not lethal and loaded with a mixture of red pepper and other eye, nose and mouth irritant.. Enjoy these rather unique Ctgs.. Many of the pistols were adorned with death heads, and dancing skeletons, to give a scary effect...BILL

Very interesting Bill,
Do you have any of the pistols to shoot this calibre? I have one of the American 3 barreled "scheintot pistols" made by Van Karner in 60 cal. Have you ever seen any ctgs for it?

A 32 gauge shell is a too small and a 28 gauge is just slightly large as I remember. It is marked 60 caliber and was probably the only gun made in this caliber. Did Van Karner use German shells? I have read some of the guns were shipped in a presentation box with ammo but I have only seen one other gun. There were about 300 made in New York. All the serial numbers according to one source are between 3700 and 4000.
