    Unknown German 75mm projectile

    Hello,

I've had this projectile for a while but I've not been able to positively identify the correct designation.

It's unusual in that it has what appears to be an unmarked 3.7cm flak fuze screwed into an adaptor, which then screws into the top of the projectile.

I have had suggestions that this may be an experimental projectile due to the unusual fuze setup.

It has also been suggested that this fuze wouldn't in fact arm itself when fired due to there not being enough force, whether that is to do with the size of the fuze I'm unsure.

Someone said that the projectile was for the Geb. G 36 mountain gun,but apparently the driving bands don't fit this gun.

    Markings are, kkg,bqq and 23L jg 11 44.
The projectile measures approx 340mm in height including the fuze and the adaptor.

So,what exactly do I have here?
Please can someone help identify it as I can't find it in any of my reference books!

    Kind regards,
    Andy

The detonator is for a short barrel gun, like you said it doesn't need to arm itself when firing.

Maybe for a 7.5cm Leichte Infanterie Geschütz 18.

But it is strange that the detonator has no markings.....
