    Hi
    I found this thing in a french market this summer.
    It is german for sure but, what the heck is it?

      Hello,

      it looks like a german1943 Field Howitzer shell case.
      the waffenamt letters on the left,the year of manufacture on the right and im sure thats an 18 at the bottom.
      its in relic condition for sure,but it would clean up nicely with some tlc.

          It actually has the correct weapon abbreviation marked on it.

          le.I.G.18 in other words the 7.5cm Leichte Infanterie Geschütz 18
