the can is totally empty. I really dont know how they emptied it. I was told they sometimes boil the powder out. how ever they did it, they did it great! I really love this piece. (even if it isnt '43 dated! ) I also have a all matching '43 dated M24, a nice M43 ( handle and head dated '44) and a vgc egg grenade (body and pull fuse dated '43) grenades are getting tough to find for sale. Im still waiting on Adam to allow me to possess His tan M43. (its pretty sweet and I know Hes getting sick of it. ) Glenn

Doc, I guess the "flower petals" do look the same in the pic. when I was looking at them in my hand and on your pic they just didnt seem right but now with both pictured they look the same size. I would assume your totally safe. Adam is very good with arsenal. I PM Adam countless times for His comments and detailed eye. Glenn

Nice piece Glenn! Only thing to criticize is that the half fuze is missing.

To show what I mean i atached a picture from my stuff. All INERT! The concrete one is a late war example, stick is repro. Notice the BZE 39 with the black cap, its an original colored one with a black cap, very unusual.

yes, nice stuff Dogtagman. I know of the tube you refer too. I have a full lengh version also but I was wondering if this example I have pictured was a varient. appearently not. I was asking various sources and no one would commit. I really like your 2 fuse tube examples. are either for sale? I am currently looking for a full length tube to replace this one. anyone... Glenn

and yes, black caps are VERY rare. NICE

No, unfortunately nothing for sale. Those igniters are not common to find, the aluminum ones are seen sometimes but the BZ24 (the brass and lead one) is hard to find in this condition. The aluminum one next to the BZ24 is the BZ39 for the smoke stick grenade.

I don't have a problem with the pull string, the pearl or the can, but I would say the handle and the collar are reproductions. Take the can off the top of the collar and have a look where the igniter screws in to the collar, is there a reverse thread in it? I suspect not and odp43 are classic reproduction markings. I would also agree with the point that crimped collars were used post '43.

                      Can you post a picture?

mmh I don't know which part are you talkin about exactly, could you take a picture of yours as an example??
Yes, my doubt started because of the ODP markings

look at glenns picture ten, theres what we mean. the fuze is screwed in there by the use of a left hand thread. If yours is missing this feature its fake!

Well guys, I must say that if the head is good, the collar must be too, because both are so rusted that they can't be separated
