                Hi Bill,

The correct British designation for this launcher is,
                DISCHARGER NO. 1, 2 1/2 INCH.

                Hope this helps.

                Kind regards,
                Andy

                  British Grenade Dischager

                  Hello,

That is one nice Discharger and Webb bag.

My Grandfather carried one in WW2 in Sicily and Italy. He said that it was to heavy for what good it could do.

Do you have the Wire Wrapped No 1 Mk 3 Lee Enfield to go with it?

                      Hi Bill

Qiuck bit of info for you, the twin web pouch set that every one calles the bren auxilliary set is actually meant to carry that rig as well.
The correct designation for the set is POUCHES Auxilliary. They were not part of the 37 ptn equipment and were considered an equipment in thier own right .
The list of changes shows them as used for the cup discharger set, spare bren magazines , spare rifle ammo bandoleers, and water,( indicating to me thier are some sort of special made water cans of some variety built to fit in the pouches. First issue was in 1938 ( i have a set ) and the tops of the pouches are fitted with slots for the ballistite rounds for the cup discharger.
