M24 grenade question?

Can anyone tell me if the wood handle of the M24 stick grenade had any finish, such as lindseed oil, or was the wood left unfinished? Thanks

Mine appears to be unfinished, although I can't say I know what wood finished with linseed oil would look like after 60 years.
