    French Grenade ???

Could someone help me ID this grenade? The fuse looks like a French F-1 which is marked ACES 5-1939. The body leads me to believe that this is an offensive grenade. Looks like gray paint under the yellow. I found a picture of a M-1937 Offensive grenade but the fuse and body were different.

Could the yellow/tan paint indicate a German reissue?

    Thanks,
    Phil

Looks like an offensive, or possibly gas. It might even be Polish, since they used fuzes similar to the French.

Doug thanks for the input. I contated Darryl Lynn author of "Grenade Recogniton Manual" and he was able to ID the grenade.

The fuse is Belgian and normally found on their Frag grenades but he thought it would also be used on their offensive grenades. He could not shed in light on the yellow paint.

I found this in a local flea market, I am always suprised with what you can still find floating around.
