    Junghans stopwatch

    Hello All:

Recently picked this up. Not my usual collecting field but I liked it and couldn't resist and I am fairly sure I can trust the seller to know his stuff. The works have been expertly cleaned and the spring replaced. Now I am hoping for a confirmation from the experts.

    Thanks
    Curt

The photo with the back off does not appear to be the same watch as in the other photos??

The 17,000 range movement serial number is very early like maybe mid 30s, but again this is a different watch

I would like to see photos of the back of this watch with both back on and back off.

Hello - Thanks so much for your response. That goes to show you what happens when one buys something without knowing much! I relied on the photos I had been provided because I did not want to fiddle with it and open the back. I have now done so and here are the pictures. Turns out there is a "flap" covering the inside and the number looks as if it is actually 13090. What conclusions do you draw now?

IMO the watch is correct and probably pre war or at least very early war. I think that the winding button and maybe stem is replaced as I think they were all originally the onion shape. Many expect the engraved KM eagle on the back but I don’t believe that all were so marked. I like the face and the eagle.

You are more than welcome, but I am far from expert. I have been trying to collect examples of movement numbers for this model in an effort to date them. There were a lot made but also a huge percentage lost forever. They are nice and historic time pieces.

I have some other references that I will dig out. If I find anything new to interest you I will post it here
