Kriegsmarine Visor Hat

Hello all,

I am looking at a Kriegsmarine visor hat for sale and would like to see what the forum members think about authenticity and what a fair price might be? The quality of the photos are not the best and have the swastika marked out as the seller is overseas.

Any input is appreciated.

A postwar visor disguised as a KM one

I see the triple serial numbers stamped on the sweatband's inner.

This is a bad sign and a simple search through WAF search engine can confirm this fact.

I would ask the KM guys to also post any soft headgear in the Cloth Headgear Forum, as most of us miss the caps when they are posted here.


I agree, it is a postwar (early 50s) BRD Handelsmarine visor with added TR insignia.

Question about KM mohair band

I have seen several variations of the KM visor but I do not know for sure what is the true width of the mohair hat band. So is there a standard width of the mohair band? Is it the same width as the Luftwaffe mohair band?
