A strange jacket ?

Hello everybody

I have just brought this photo. What i find very interesting , is the officer with a cigaret in his hand. The jacket he is wearing looks like it is dark blue. It isnt a reefer jacket his is wearing , because it has breast pockets and only one row of buttons etc. But would kind of jacket is he wearing then ? Could it be a dark blue Uboot Päckchen ?

I had once a tropical jacket in cotton tinted in blue and retailored/shortened
to be a bit "adjusted" to the wearer .
It could be a jacket like that ?
A U Boot crew needed more adjusted pieces of uniform than longer jackets ?

That sounds like a very interesting jacket. I have never seen a dark blue tropical KM jacket before. Do you have photos of that jacket?
