Hello everybody!
I am wondering if you are familiar with cloth-items from the Battleship Bismarck. Unfortunately I am not allowed to add any attachments, otherwise I could show you some pictures.
I recently found a towel for sale that apparently belonged to the Bismarck.
The shape of the towel is almost new, no scratches, no holes, no stains, etc.. According to the pictures I would say it was never used. On the reverse there are three different stamps - the first one shows the german eagle and the letter "M", then a marking M.W.A. followed by the year 1940, and the third one with the name "BISMARCK" in capital letters.
I donĀ“t know if you are familiar with these kind of items. As by common sense I would bet that it is a fake, but who knows... The seller says he purchased it from a private auction in Germany.
Maybe you have seen similar towels with the markings I've described... Any feedback/opinion would be much appreciated!!
Best regards!
